Difficult times in Practice is the theme of the 2012 conference.

Last yers Conference proved very attractive with well over 100 delegates attending.

  Revenue Audits for Solicitor Practices

  Theresa O’Gorman

Theresa O’Gorman is a Tax Director with Grant Thornton in Limerick. She joined in 2000 and has over 30 year’s experience in all areas of Irish taxation.

Theresa previously spent 17 years with the Revenue Commissioners. He presentation will cover Sectoral Audits and explain what they are.  She will also deal with Risk Evaluation and the common errors and problems that Revenue find with Solicitors during the course of Revenue Audits.

She will deal with Penalties and Interest, Publication and the rules for Disclosures

  Barry O’Reilly

Barry O’Reilly has over fifteen years Financial Services experience. Formerly an ALM Manager and Strategic Planning Manager for EBS Building Society, he moved into the Insurance Industry where he assumed the role of Commercial Underwriting & Reporting Manager for Quinn Insurance. He has been involved in underwriting Solicitors PII in both the UK and ROI for the last four years. He has a strong analytical background and is known for his meticulous attention to detail.

Barry’s presentation will focus on the following key areas

Patrick Darcy is Director of Forensic and Investigation services at Grant Thornton. He has over twenty year’s experience involving tax and fraud investigations. He has undertaken a number of projects and investigations including government, regulatory and not for profit organisations.   Barry Robinson is a Director of Forensic and nvestigation services also at Grant Thornton. Barry has many year’s experience in the areas of audit, forensic accounting and investigations. Patrick and Barry's session will cover

  Gerry Duffy

From running 32 marathons in 32 days to completing and winning the 2011 UK Deca Enduroman Ironman distance challenge, an event dubbed "The toughtest 10 day endurance challenge in the World" Gerry Duffy loves to challenge himself as well as conventional wisdom and is keen on leading by example. Companies who have invited Gerry to address their workforces and clients include Facebook, Google, AXA, United Drug, Standard Life and Coca Cola.

His presentations are always packed with strategies and tactics to help any company or individual achieve whatever goal they wish.

Gerry's session will focus on helping you run your practice in today’s tough times.
